Donna has its own crossing number

The Donna–Río Bravo International Bridge connects the Donna area of Texas with the Río Bravo area of Tamaulipas. CBP's port name is Progreso, but its crossing name is Donna International Bridge and its number is 230902. The Progreso International Bridge is a different entry: select Donna when planning to use this bridge, so the estimate matches your intended crossing.

CBP lists Donna's port hours as 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. A lane can have a different schedule or be closed within those hours, so check the report and any current notice before departure.

Passenger lanes and Ready Lane hours

The passenger report includes standard and Ready Lane categories. CBP's Donna notice says Ready Lane is open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. That is a shorter window than the published port schedule. Consult the current lane status as well: the notice is a schedule, while the live field reflects the reported operating condition.

To use Ready Lane, every traveler age 16 or older in the vehicle needs an eligible RFID-enabled travel card. A passport book alone does not qualify for that lane. Verify the cards before choosing the queue and follow posted instructions.

Walking and reading a wait estimate

CBP includes a standard pedestrian category for Donna as well as passenger-vehicle categories. If you plan to walk, check the pedestrian status rather than using an automobile estimate. A field marked closed is different from an estimated wait of zero minutes; an unavailable field is not a prediction either.

The displayed time is an estimate associated with its update, and it can change while you travel. CBP explains that land-border estimates are measured either manually against established benchmarks or by an automated system. Check the latest report again near your departure.

Documents and commercial information

Check CBP's land-entry guidance for the citizenship and immigration status of each traveler, including children. For U.S. citizens, its listed documents include a valid passport and passport card. A document accepted for entry does not automatically make its holder eligible for Ready Lane.

In the Donna feed, the commercial category is marked not applicable. That field does not supply a truck wait estimate and should not be interpreted as zero delay. Freight operators should confirm current arrangements directly with the port before routing a shipment.

Driving toward Mexico

The CBP figures describe entry into the United States, so plan the Mexico-bound portion of a trip separately. Before driving in Mexico, arrange liability coverage valid there. Federal-road rules require coverage for damage to third parties; CONDUSEF recommends reviewing policy coverage and exclusions and checking the insurer's authorization.

Keep travel documents and insurance information available for your journey. Recheck the specific bridge name and lane status before leaving, especially if your plans depend on the shorter Ready Lane window.
